God Bless America, Friday and Cupcakes #

"It's Friday!" & "Happy Fourth of July!" :) That phrase just brings a smile to my face :) It's 4th of July weekend, and sadly the weather is pretty much...crap. :) --->enter sarcasm voice--->Thank you so much Hurricane Alex for raining on my parade and everyone else's this weekend. Grrr! Our plans are to go and float the river with some friends, but rain is in our forecast for the entire weekend. Not too sure if that's going to happen or not just yet, but I'll keep you posted. :)

Oh I'm such a goober. Today at work is "Dress Up Summer Day" and silly me thought we were supposed to bring "Summery" food for lunch. Little did I know, that it was just a dress up day, and not a luncheon day. Oh well...I made some pretty cute cupcakes if I do say so myself :)




These are just chocolate cupcakes covered in chocolate icing, with silver cups. I sprinkled red sprinkles for the "hot fire" look, and put black strips of icing for the "grill." The "hot dogs" are hot tamales with black icing. The "grilled chicken" is caramel squares with black icing. The "hamburger patties" are brownies with black icing smeared on top to give it that "charred" look. The "hamburgers" are caramel squares with a brownie in the middle and white sprinkles on top. The "shish kabobs" are toothpicks with pieces of caramel, and chopped up gummy bears.
