Wiggin' Out.

I am a BIG FAT CHICKEN when it comes to my hair.

In the 8th grade, my hair was about three inches below my bra line. It was longggg. My 8th grade graduation was coming up, and all my friends were getting those cute "Jennifer Aniston/Friends" haircuts. So, I thought to spice up my look, I'd do the same thing. My Mom and I went to Waco, Tx and decided to go to this place in the mall. (FYI, never get your hair cut in a mall. No offense to anyone out there who does hair in a mall...I'm just scarred for life, that's all.) I told her I wanted it an inch past my shoulders...and next thing I know, the hooker is cutting it up to my chin. MY CHIN people. I held it together, and as soon as I left the chair I started bawling like a 1 year old baby. My hair was GONE and I looked like a BOY. I HATED it.

Needless to say, I haven't cut my hair off more than 2 inches since that day. No joke. I have very thin hair and you'd think it would be down to the floor now, but my hair likes to break off, fall out, you know...do just about everything I don't want it to do.

I was born a blonde, was a dirty blonde growing up, and eventually it went brown. I've died my hair darkkkk brown, brown, BLONDE, blondish-brown...that's pretty much as crazy as I get.

Well y'all... I'm in a FUNK. I don't want to cut my hair. BUT I want a new look. Some days I wish I could sport a cute bob cut with bangs, and some days I just wish I had bangs. If I cut my bangs, then they would be whispy, and fly (or float) in the wind. It would be horrible, and hilarious. Haha. I know I'd like my hair (maybe) for a week, and then wish it was long again.

And since I don't have little Nelson babies yet, I figure I might as well keep it long for now since I hear about 75% of woman chop off their hair because babies like to pull, tug, chew, and grasp your lovely long locks. (No, thank you. That would hurt like ....).

Anyway, I had a photoshoot awhile back and we went to a wig shop. I've never been one to want to wear a wig, and actually, I've never thought about it until I started playing with the wigs in the store like a giddy little school girl.

Okay, so the sole purpose for this post is to ask you what you think about me wearing a wig? Would that make me weird?
PhotobucketShe can pull anything off. So not fair! :)
I wouldn't wear it every day...probably more like once a month for like a special event, or date night out or something.

Love her.

I'm thinking shoulder length, bangs? I don't know. But I feel so weird going and buying a wig when I have locks underneath. I just want to have a different look every once in awhile without actually sacraficing what I'm comfortable with.

I wish I could pull this off...

Am I the only one who has thought about doing this?

Here I am with a blonde wig in the store...with no make-up might I add. Gross.

Ladies, help...please? :)

  1. I think this is brilliant. I once knew a girl who wore a wig every so often when she went out with her girlfriends, just for fun. Go for it!

  3. I agree. Skip the wig, and cut some bangs. If you end up not liking them, they can always grow out. But based on the wigs, it looks like they would look great on you.

  5. WOW!!! You in the blonde wig with the bangs = BEAUTIFUL!! if you don't do that to your hair at least buy the wig!! you look great =)
I use to own a clip hair thing. It was curly and long (for back when I had short hair). It was nice because I could have the long lovely curls and wear it up and it matched my color PERFECTLY. I say go for it...I must say, I'm inspired =)

  6. I've had bangs my WHOLE LIFE They SUCK! I read in an article that even gal pal Reese has hated having bangs for movies or what not...

They are high maintenance...like have to be trimmed or texturized every 4 weeks. sucky sucky. Totally your decision but I like you without em! :) You have such nice facial features sometimes bangs mask those! :)

PS I totally agree about women HACKING off their hair bec of kids! NO thanks as you said!

  7. Okay, so we are really alike in this respect...I have THIN THIN, dirty blonde hair naturally and even IF the lady had only cut to my shoulders, I would have cried. I HATE change with me hair, it freaks me out. So, being since I KINDA know what your going through (I cut mine down to my shoulders and am alittle blah about it) I say go for the wig! Why not? If it makes you feel better about yourself and you dont have to go through the trauma of a huge change, why not?!You will look stunning no matter what!

  11. I don't think a wig would be bad, it would allow you to try something different without cutting your hair :) I also don't think shoulder length is bad either. Bangs are great but if you don't like them you have to let them grow out. I think it totally depends :)
