Erin | Bridals

12.13.2012

When I was in the first grade, I moved to Round Rock, Texas with my family for a year and a half. I had to move away from the town I grew up in and was placed in a "BIG" city, away from my small town roots. I remember the first day of school and being terrified. Was I going to make any new friends? Would these strangers like me?

Well, I guess I was somewhat awesomesauce or something because I happened to make a few. One of those friends was named Erin. She was a cute little blonde that lived down the street from me, and we were in the same excellerated reading club (Holla! I can READ Mom!). I remember having a ton of sleep overs at her house and always had so much fun with her. It's honestly quite strange how much I remember about my 1st grade years. I mean, hello!? That was a LONG time ago, and these days I'm lucky if I remember what day it is! (Kidding, some days, anyway)

Eventually, my family packed up and left to go back home where we originally had moved from. I had to start ALL over AGAIN at my "old" school. I had to leave my new friends behind and we wrote letters from time to time to keep in touch, but then we got older, got caught up in school, grew up, and lost touch.

It was a late night of facebooking stalking a couple of years ago and I remember thinking, "I wonder what ever happened to those girls I grew up with in the 1st grade!?" I totally got a little creepy and tried to imagine what they would look like as 25 year olds. Only a few I found, but one of the first I looked up was Erin. I remember facebook messaging her this, "Please don't think I'm a weirdo, but are you Erin that went to Deep Wood Elementary in the 1st grade by any chance!?" Yeah. I know. WEIRDO alert right here. But thankfully, she remembered me and it wasn't weird at all. It was actually awesome! :)  (Sure dodged that bullet!)

We connected a little over Facebook from time to time and then one day I got a message from Erin asking me if I'd be interested in taking some pictures for her. Well, DUH! OF course I would! How crazy cool is that!? :)

She already had a wedding photographer, so I got to do the next best thing...her BRIDALS. Whoop! Whoop! :)

The cute little blonde turned out to grow up into a blonde bombshell. She is just gorgeous, really. Erin got married last weekend and I am just so happy for her. Her dress, her Grandma's vintage wedding ring... Y'ALL! HER SHOES....everything...just WOWZA! Her groom is a very lucky man! :)

Congratulations Erin! :) Thank you so so so much for letting me be a small part of the most important time in your life. It was awesome and so fun getting to spend an afternoon with you.

XO from here to the moon!
