Happy Monday Y'all!

I can't believe how fast this weekend came and went, as most of them do, but I don't think the word tired or exhausted can accurately describe how I feel today. I'm out of gas. Borderline "dead" as in lifeless, but still yawning in the process. And sadly, this is just the beginning of my crazy busy two months. Alright, done complaining now.

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

1. Black Cat, Boobies, and 911.
These three words accurately describe my Friday night. Hubs and I went to work out, ate Subway, and came home to get some things done around the house. Once we got home, we were both too tired to work, so we rented Love & Other Drugs.

Wholy boobies batman! I mean, I knew Anne Hathaway was going to be naked in the movie...but seriously, the whole movie was a naked-fest. I almost felt like clothes were banned from the movie. Alas, we finished the movie (if you can get past all the naked-ness, it's a pretty good movie), we were ready for bed. I went to let my dogs out and turned on the backporch light and what did I see?
Photobucket
That's right. A freakin' black cat. I'm a pretty paranoid person in general (not by choice, just habit) and this cat looked at us with his big ol' yellow green eyes and I swear he said, "BAHAHAHA sucks for you" as he ran across "our path" and escaped into the bushes. I just looked at my husband with a face like this...
Photobucket
And said, "BABE! We are doomed! That means bad luck right!?!?!?!?!" He simply just said, "Shay, no. It didn't cross our path." I walked back to the bedroom, head down, saying, "Crap! Crap! Crap! Dang cat! Crap! Crap! Crap!"

So here we are sitting in bed, I'm about 1/2 asleep and Drew is watching ESPN when all the sudden I hear, "POW!POW!POW!" I jumped, and squeezed Drew's arm for dear life. I said, "DID YOU HEAR THAT ANDREW!?!?!?" He must have been half asleep too, but his eyes were open, and said, "WHAT!?" I made him turn the TV down which was blarring so loud a deaf person could have heard him.

"POW! POW! POW!" silence. "POW! POW! POW! POW!" silence. "POW! POW!"

It got louder and louder. It sounded like it was right outside our window. I was frozen. Andrew jumped up, grabbed his shot gun under the bed, and I hit the deck. I was shaking, and thinking some intruder was about to shoot open our back door, and here I am in my big ol' t-shirt with toothpaste on my face and this was it... THE end of my life (melodramatic much?) and I would never see the light of day again. I was going to die with toothpaste all over my face! I called 911. And if you don't believe me, here is PROOF.

Told you. I don't lie! Lady on the phone told me they would send cops, and I answered her questions CALMLY (patting myself on the back), and she asked if I would like someone to call me back letting me know the coast was clear. I said, "YES!" Because helloooo, I was shaking half to death and I didn't want to be up all night long scared for my life.

So, as you can see that the call took place at 11:30. I waited, and waited, and NOBODY freaking called me. I tossed and turned until 3 in the morning because NOBODY bothered to call me back. I wanted to call 911 back, but can you imagine?

911: 911, what's your emergency?
Me: UM, Nobody called me back.
911: Excuse me, come again?
Me: Yeah, I called a couple of hours ago about a shooting outside my bedroom window, and the lady said she would let me know when the coast was clear.

? My thoughts exactly.

I finally fell asleep though..and to this day, I still don't know what went down.

2. Groupon.
Hubs bought a Groupon on Friday and we are using it tonight at some Mexican food restaurant. Yeah, I know, tex mex isn't on my diet, but it was a good deal. It is our first time doing this whole Groupon thing so I am excited. Dork is right.

3. Saturday night.
Dude. We went to College Station on Saturday to visit our friend Cody.
PhotobucketPhotobucket
We ate at Chuy's (not on diet either :|) and then went to Northgate(the bars). I was the ONLY girl hanging out with 8 guys. And since I forgot my camera this weekend, this was the only one I took of the entire night.

My feet hurt, and I was ready for bed even before we left, but I hung in there. We didn't go to bed until 5 in the morning. Ridiculousssssssss.

4.Sunday.
Sunday I got up at 10:45 (not bad considering I went to bed so late) and watched Get Him to the Greek. We then showered and went to Montgomery, TX (about an hour away from College Station or so) and went to my friend Ronnie's wedding. I'm sad I didn't get any pictures, but she was the most beautiful bride EVER. We didn't even eat because the wedding was at 5, and we still had to go back to CS to pick up my pups and head back to Austin. We got home around 11 last night. My head hit the pillow soon after.

5. Monday Night Line Up!
I am such a GIRL. I can't wait for tonight's TV Line up! PLL, The Bachelor, Gossip Girl & 90210. Thank GOD for DVR. I can't wait for The Women Tell episode tonight on The Bachelor! I recently read (Thanks Reality Steve) that whom wins next week isn't who was previously thought to have won...HOLLA! That makes me a very happy girl.

6. Wedding.
This weekend I am shooting my first wedding EVER! I am nervous/excited/nervous! ;)

6. Funny.

7. Diet.
I have decided that the word DIET is just setting me up for failure since sometimes life and food gets in the way. So from now on, I am just referring to it as EATING BETTER. I like it.

Well, that's about it for now. I have my next wedding post ready, so be looking for that very soon.

XOXO!

  1. Groupon is awesome! I buy them all of the time -- we just used one at a Creole restaurant (one that we prob would have never have gone to otherwise). Tex Mex... yummy!!

  4. The 911 story had me cracking up! So funny now that it's over. I'm sure you were terrified in the moment. Also, the cousins picture frame with a married couple! LOL!! Still laughing at that one! Loved this post! Have a great week!

  5. Didn't know I could crack up at some many different things at the same time. You're hilarious.

The 911 do-jiggy. FREAKY! Sad to say I've had my share of those calls. Hello. I live in Miami. 'Nuf said.

The Bachelor...do NOT tell me what you read or I will never read your blog again! Haha!

    No. Really.

As for Anne Hathaway - wow. I thought she had a little more class...but then the Oscar's sort of clued me in on that first.

The picture frame - gross. Hilarious and gross. I actually know someone who could've used that. Ugghhhh.

The "check me out and size me up" thing - I'd say, sadly, pretty accurate for most people.

Thanks for being funniest 5 minutes of my day!

Oh, and if you are on a "eating healthy" plan...avoid my post today. ;)

I can't believe that no one from the police station called you back. So much for feeling safe! Glad nothing happened to you guys though - I'm sure that was terrifying!

You had quite the weekend and all that shooting and your 911 call...your account of what might have happened if you called to let them know that they didn't call you back was hilarious! Glad all seems okay now and perhaps there was something to that black cat! Oh my! :) Looking forward to your upcoming wedding post too!

  16. I smiled very big when I read your comment on my blog today! yay

I am starting my "eat better" plan tomorrow too.

I've been wanting to see Love and Other Drugs, but nakedness makes me uncomfortable. I wear clothes in the shower (kidding)

was there a drive-by in your neighborhood?

I think sometimes it is hysterical to be the only girl with a group of guys because they tend to talk to each other like they would if you weren't there... then ya learn interesting things ; )

tomorrow I am giving up Facebook for Lent (I know it started today) so I may be stalking your archives lol
